Change, irrespective of scale and benefits, leads to strong emotional responses in the workforce. This program is designed to teach participants how to understand people’s reactions to change, communicate effectively to minimise challenging responses and provide support to maximise the change effort.
Performance management and motivational performance conversations
One of the most common causes of psychological claims is alleged bullying by a manager towards a staff member, particularly when there are performance issues present. This course aims to give managers practical skills for facilitating these conversations in a direct, sensitive, diplomatic and constructive manner to motivate positive behaviour change and help non-performing staff to realise, and capitalise on, their own strengths, while managing less constructive development areas.
Preventing bullying and harassment
This course is designed to give managers effective skills for educating staff about workplace bullying behaviours and detecting the early warning signs.
Team norming: Tailored team culture development sessions
When teams are formed it is common for them to experience a process of 'storming' and 'norming' to determine how they are going to operate, who will be the formal and informal leaders of the group and how they are going to collaborate and communicate in the future. nb&a group are experienced facilitators and mediators, equipped with the skills to assist teams to develop these norms efficiently, sensitively and constructively, with the aim of preventing damaging and stressful conflicts and establishing harmonious work patterns.

Handling challenging behaviours
When customers or clients display aggressive or confronting behaviours, people are often unsure how to respond. This course aims to teach practical skills to deescalate challenging behaviours, with a focus on detection of early warning signs, understanding the motives for confrontational behaviour and self-managing emotional reactions to the behaviour to respond safely, sensitively and appropriately.
Understanding others: Tailored team building facilitation
Challenging behaviours demonstrated by any one team member, particularly if they are suffering from a mental health condition, can place immense stress and pressure on colleagues. Skilled in facilitating tailored team building sessions for the purposes of exploring these issues, the trainer will assist in developing agreed norms and behaviours to both address and work with the challenging behaviours and support one another during the time of change.
Mentally healthy workplace culture checks and interventions

Constructive Crisis Conversations
This course is designed to assist staff in detecting signs of trauma and crisis and responding appropriately and safely to ensure that the person in need is supported throughout. Self-care strategies for the carer or support are also explored to enhance wellbeing.
